Self-Sufficiency Grant

Customized Job Training

The Self-Sufficiency Fund Program is administered by the Texas Workforce Commission to assist businesses in financing and implementing customized job training programs in partnership with public community and technical colleges, the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX), or community-based organizations. The program is designed to create new jobs or retrain existing low-wage workers.

The primary focus of the program is assisting public assistance recipients or individuals with annual wages at or below $37,000 to obtain training and jobs that will allow them to become independent from government financial assistance. Grants are typically awarded for 1 year. Texas Workforce Commission staff are available to assist with the grant process.
