Electrical Construction Rapid Training

This 6-7 week program focuses on the most common installations of electrical components in the commercial electrical field to prepare for employment. Students will learn about bending conduit, wall installation with conduit/MC cable, OSHA 10, safety, wire pulling, and devices. Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is offering this training at no cost to participants ($1,600 value).

Flexible Training Schedule

Go at your own pace! Training sessions will be held Monday-Thursday from 1-6 p.m. beginning June 5 and running through July 27 at the Alta Vista Learning Center. Optional hours will also be available on Friday afternoons. Trainings are video based (via an experienced electrician) with hands-on virtual reality simulations and a classroom instructor to assist. 

Program Requirements

Candidates for this program leading to jobs in the electrical construction field should be:

  • Physically fit
  • Able to pass a drug screen
  • Able to pass a color-vision test
  • Able to learn in a virtual environment
  • Willing to submit to a background check (offenses will be considered on a case-by case basis)

Job Opportunities

Area employers have immediate openings starting at $18-$20/hour for entry level jobs in electrical construction. Employment support will be provided upon training completion.

Application Deadline

The deadline to apply is Thursday, May 18, 2023. Applications will be reviewed on a first come, first serve basis, and may close sooner if course capacity is reached.
