"After visiting with Robert, the Rapid Response Coordinator, a couple months ago, we went ahead and signed up our business for the Shared Work program. We were approved within a couple days. At the same time, due to uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 impact on the newspaper, we had to reduce hours for four employees. Three of them chose to register for Shared Work and were approved. Their benefits began the same week their reduced hours went into effect – so there was no gap.
A few weeks ago we had to reduce hours for the remaining full-time employees. All four chose to register for Shared Work and all four were approved and received benefits within two days of their first impacted check. Those benefits now coincide with our weekly payroll.
