ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Reviews and ensures that TJJD receives the appropriate legal and supporting documents from the committing court, such as the Order of Commitment, Interagency Application for Placement, detention orders for the offense(s) resulting in the commitment to TJJD, all petition(s), adjudication(s), and disposition orders for the youth, order of revocation of probation, and sex offender registration documentation. (35%)
Reviews the commitment order to determine if, on its face, it meets all requirements of a valid court order before TJJD admits the youth; and verifies technical data. (5%)
Reviews arrest records; identifies relevant information regarding offenses resulting in commitment to TJJD or occurring after commitment, including information identifying the nature and seriousness of the offenses and the danger the youth poses to the community; interprets probation department records and the state penal code regarding offenses; characterizes and summarizes relevant information on the TJJD Chronological Record form regarding such offenses (CCF-520), the TJJD Minimum Length of Stay Assignment form (CCF-040); and ensures appropriate coding in the TJJD database. (5%)
Researches and analyzes legal sources such as statutes and agency rules; compares offense and penal code citations used in the commitment orders against state penal code; and assists in identifying key factors in determination of misdemeanor and felony offenses. (10%)
Performs quality assurance checks to ensure appropriate and sufficient information has been received and accurately recorded. (10%)
Reviews and interprets related policies and procedures; and makes administrative decisions as appropriate. (5%)
