Epidemiologists are scientists who study diseases within populations of people. In essence, these public health professionals analyze what causes disease outbreaks in order to treat existing diseases and prevent future outbreaks.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (required), Master’s degree preferred, from an accredited college or university, with major course work in epidemiology, nursing, biology, bio-chemistry, veterinary medicine, public health, or other related life-sciences area, or an equivalent combination of professional level training and experience. Excellent skills in oral and writing presentation and communicating public health findings to a variety of audiences.
