The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a Clerk I for their Wallace Unit in Colorado City.
JOB SUMMARY
Performs entry-level to routine clerical work. Work involves compiling and tabulating data; checking documents for accuracy; transporting documents; and maintaining files. Works under close supervision with minimal latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education, Experience, and Training
- Graduation from an accredited senior high school or equivalent or GED.
- Clerical, secretarial, administrative support, or technical program support experience preferred.
- Computer operations experience preferred.
- Skill to type 45 WPM net with no more than 10 errors preferred.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of business terminology, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
- Knowledge of agency and departmental organizational structure, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations preferred.
- Skill to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
- Skill to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public.
