Street Maintenance Technician I

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Works as part of a team to maintain and repair public works infrastructure, including streets and street right of ways, streetlights and signs, storm drainage systems and other city facilities. Operates a variety of construction equipment and trucks utilized in construction, maintenance, and repair activities; performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks related to public streets, lands, or buildings. Position receives supervision in task performance and is expected to show good judgment within established guidelines. The nature of the job will require incumbent to be on call 24 hours a day, to include weekends and holidays as scheduled. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood I SERVE Core Values.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or G.E.D. certificate; Experience driving trucks larger than ton is preferred. Experience in operating other related equipment is desirable. 

REQUIRED LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
Must possess Texas Commercial Driver License Class B with an N endorsement within (12) months of hire date. 

Pay:
$2,804 per month / $16.18 per hour
