Intake Specialist M-F 3pm-11pm

General Description: The Intake Specialist provides crisis line and shelter coverage, as well as conducting intakes with resident and non-resident clients and assisting with provision of services to these clients. M-F, 3-11 pm, with other shifts as required, on-call rotation, occasional weekends and holidays.
Essential Job Functions:
- Receive crisis calls and provide immediate crisis intervention for all victims of domestic violence, dating violence and sexual assault, including performing Lethality Assessment Protocols.
- Complete intake and exit interviews and complete all required documentation on residents and non-residents clients.
- Assist residents in settling into shelter, room and providing a tour.
- Assist clients with immediate needs and refer them to appropriate resource, or utilize Noah resources.
- Control access to the facility by residents, non-residents and visitors, oversee the security system and follow all security procedures.
- Complete documentation, data/statistical entry and any other required paperwork on a timely basis to include maintaining client and administrative files.
- Ensure residents are following shelter guidelines and responsibilities. Chores, quiet hours, etc.
- Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.
- Additional duties may be assigned as necessary, including but not limited to; clerical duties, assisting with shelter program activities, conferences, fundraisers and training.
Job Requirements:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course of study in social work or a related course of study preferred. Full-time employment in a family violence shelter or similar social service agency in combination with formal education may be substituted for preferred degree with approval of the Executive Director.
- Willingness to perform tasks outside the job description.
- Has knowledge of first aid and CPR procedures or is willing to be trained on those skills.
- Possesses knowledge and proficiency in general office procedures.
- Is willing to work in stressful conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Knowledge of dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Maintain professional and ethical boundaries with all clients.
- Works well with minimal supervision.
