Responsible for issuing permits.
Performing inspections of buildings and building systems to include structural, plumbing, electrical and mechanical system installations to assure compliance with laws, regulations and codes.
Responsibilities extend to ordering compliance to the codes when deficiencies or infractions are noted.
The work involves contact with property owners, officials of various departments and contractors.
Will also be assigned additional duties to inspect and enforce other codes..
Education:
High School diploma or G.E.D. required;
Technical school or OJT training in structural, mechanical, plumbing and/or electrical systems;
Required Licenses/Certificates:
Texas Class C Driver License with a good driving record.
Experience:
One year or more progressively responsible work experience as an Inspector of one or more of the foregoing systems is desired.
Plumbing experience is desired in order to acquire Inspector License
Salary:
$3,146.00 per month I $18.15 per hour
