The Technician I is responsible for the proficient operation of the tire and service bays. Performs basic mechanical work, effecting minor repairs related to preventive maintenance and safety inspection. Participates in trainings targeting comprehensive repair and fabrication. Must be willing to adopt and exhibit the City of Brownwood “I SERVE” Core Values.
Qualifications:
- Read, write and interpret instructions for repairs, service schedules, reports, material tickets and work orders.
- Inspect a vehicle, diagnose the problem and make repairs in a timely manner.
- Operate various types of equipment.
- Work independent of direct supervision, be a self-starter.
- Keep a clean, safe work area and maintain the tools provided by the City of Brownwood.
