How to Choose Child Care
Child Care Options
Families who are determined eligible for child care assistance from Child Care Services (CCS) may choose from a wide variety of child care arrangements for their children. CCS has contracts with licensed child care centers, licensed child care homes, and registered child care homes to provide care. In addition, families may choose to have an eligible relative care for their child. You can visit Texas Child Care Connection to learn more about different providers.
CCS staff will be happy to work with you to select the best child care arrangement for you and your family. Once you have narrowed down your choices, visit the potential providers and use the Child Care Consumer Information Brochure and Health & Safety Checklist found on our Forms page to determine which provider best meets your needs.
Attendance Works!
Child attendance to an early childhood program is vital to the growth and development of the child attending the program. At Child Care Services (CCS) we keep the best interest of families in mind. Attendance policies are in place at all CCS providers. If for some reason your child is not able to attend regularly, contact our office so we can help you with further information and resources. View information below on the impact of good attendance and chronic absences.
Attendance Works is a national and state initiative to help promote importance of attendance and assist in tracking chronic absences. The following is a list of handouts which could assist families in helping their child attend school/childhood centers regularly:
