Provider Training Opportunities

Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is excited to continue offering expanded training opportunities for child care providers! New workshops on nature-based learning and other topics are added periodically, so stay tuned.

Below, providers will find details on Child Development Associate (CDA) programs. Registration for the CDA certification program opens annually and space is limited. With a variety of training topics covered throughout the course there is something for the first time caregiver and the experienced facility owner. The CDA Amnesty & Renewal program is running for a limited time, so don’t miss out!

Child Development Associate (CDA) Amnesty & Renewal Program

Program Information & Deadline Extension

The Council for Professional Recognition is offering a one-time waiver of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential’s expiration deadline (as far back as January 1, 2010). This allows the CDA holder to renew their expired certification without the need to retake the CDA course or CDA test.

The Council recently extended the Amnesty program until June 30, 2020. In light of this information and because of recent events, Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas has extended the scholarship offer and expanded eligibility to also include standard CDA renewals. If an eligible CDA holder is current on their crenetial and just needs to renew, we will pay that renewal fee. Candidates must apply for Amnesty and/or Renewal using our online application. Applicants will then be notified by Child Care Quality staff.

Scholarship Information

Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas will pay the CDA renewal fee of $125 for a select number of candidates who qualify for this opportunity. Scholarship priority will be given to those currently employed with a Texas Rising Star Provider.
