Workforce Solutions of West Central Texas is excited to continue offering expanded training opportunities for child care providers! New workshops are added periodically, so stay tuned. Below, providers will find details on the Child Development Associate (CDA) certification program. Registration for the CDA program opens annually and space is limited. With a variety of training topics covered throughout the course there is something for the first time caregiver and the experienced facility owner.

Child Development Associate Credential ProgramThe Child Development Associate (CDA) program includes 120 hours of Early Childhood training covering eight subject areas and six competencies. There will be 81 hours of training and an additional commitment to complete 39 hours of on-the-job practical application including activity documentation.
Course info:All program activities will be conducted virtually. Coursework will be self-paced and completed using the learning management system Canvas. There will also be a Zoom check-in every other month. The first Zoom course meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 20th from 6:30-7:30pm. The full program runs nine months from October 2020 - June 2021.
The cost to register for the CDA program is $35 and will be refunded upon successful completion of the course.
Payment is due at the time of registration. If a facility would like to register multiple staff, please email Mindy Ross for a customized group registration form. Refunds for cancellations will not be provided after classes have begun.

TRS participants are eligible for early bird registration until October 12th. Don't delay, spots fill fast!
Who can participate?
Caregivers who currently meet minimum requirements of the CDA Council to be eligible to take the CDA test, and are willing to actively participate in CDA preparation for assessment.
All registrants will receive a scholarship to cover the cost of the CDA test ($425) plus a $250 incentive for credential completion upon receipt of CDA Certification from the Council.
